Censored Subjects

The corporate media gives a strong pro-establishment bias to what most of America accepts as news. Sometimes sex and bribery scandals surface, but the intentions of the powerful are rarely questioned.

establishment motives

The motives of the organizations and individuals making key decisions in the US and similar countries are largely for power and exploitation. This is rarely discussed in the corporate media.

prosecuting establishment crimes

Though it is common to hear establishment propaganda about prosecuting the leaders of opposing countries it is almost impossible to hear talk of prosecution for one's own government. The crimes committed by leaders around the world are often the similar, with the US often outdoing many other nations. Any serious attempt at prosecution would have the US on the short list of actions to pursue.

causes for anti-US terrorism

The reasons people around the world can be recruited to carry out 9/11 style attacks are rarely discussed. Supporting dictatorships which help the US plunder has caused extreme suffering around the globe, and it will take hard work for this to be forgiven. (Fortunately many people around the world distinguish between the US rules and its citizens.)

establishment values

Many key values in the US and like nations are kept outside the range of regular reporting. Corporate investment is considered almost sacred, while government assisted health care is demonized. Most of us are not aware of what values and decisions are being kept out of the public sphere.

international viewpoints

The US corporate media focuses on domestic experts, with little exposure to the conditions and opinions in other countries. Iraqis, especially those suffering under the US occupation, are not heard in the US.

Many non-US news news agencies are often better than their US counterparts.

how to be an activist

Learning and practicing skills to exert political power are nearly censored in the US. We are told to leave all decisions to wise elite officials. The US corporate media not only distorts our understanding of the world but it keeps us passive as well. Investigation and effective protest techniques are just outside of normal political discussions for most citizens.

diplomacy

The art of negotiation is rarely discussed publicly. This is partly to legitimize the use of military force. Diplomacy is also kept private because the establishment goals are often domination and exploitation. US diplomacy in particular is often abusive, and this must be kept secret.
